Set, check, and adjust.
In a nutshell, a PPC management company is consistently setting a strategy, checking on performance, and adjusting the strategy to deliver optimal results (and a positive ROI!).
If you're really curious about what a PPC management company does, here's a run down of some of our activities that we do on a daily basis.
- Check spend to make sure we're not going to go over budget.
- Check Keywords For First Page Bid Adjustments
- Check Keywords For Low Quality Scores
- Check for conversions
- Adjust keyword bids for conversions
- Add new keywords
- Create new versions of ad copy
- Check Google's suggestions to see if there's any good opportunities.
- Add Negative Keywords
- Deliver Report To Client By Email Or Phone
Most of our PPC management campaigns combine Google AdWords, Facebook Ads, and Retargeting advertisements to reach our client's business goals.
With that said, every engagement starts by getting crystal clear on who the customer is before beginning to execute any paid advertising tactics. The more information we know about your target customer – age, gender, income, interests, location and motivation -- the better our paid advertising efforts can be.
We do have experience and expertise in managing ads on LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, and other ad platforms. However, we like to stick with the big three of Google AdWords, Facebook Ads, and Retargeting ads because that's where we tend to see the best return on investment.
One of the top questions we hear from prospective clients is, “How much should our budget be for pay-per-click advertising?”
The answer to identifying the appropriate PPC advertising budget depends on projections, assumptions and math.
Take a look at this article we wrote for Forbes, entitled How To Determine The Right PPC Advertising Budget.
If you need to generate leads or sales quickly, PPC is an important marketing tactic to incorporate into a digital marketing strategy.
That's why PPC is so important. Unlike SEO, Social Media, and Email marketing - all marketing tactics that either require time, or a large following to produce results - PPC is a marketing tactic that any small business can engage in to produce leads or sales.
The short answer: we use what Google gives us. Here's an article we wrote for Forbes that describes our process: https://www.forbes.com/sites/forbesagencycouncil/2017/01/26/use-what-google-gives-you-to-create-a-successful-seo-content-strategy/#1f9ad07b3b86.
Here are the tools that we utilize to help us conduct our keyword research:
- Google Autocomplete Feature
- Google’s “Searches Related To” Section
- Google AdWords Activity
- Google Search Console
- Google Analytics
- Google Keyword Planner
These tools usually provide us with everything we need to conduct keyword research. But, we also like to use tools like Ahrefs and Spyfu to identify keywords we may have overlooked.
ROI is our ultimate measurement of success. If you spent "x" on ads and our management fee, what did we produce in return?
Beyond ROI, there are several tangible benchmarks that we report on weekly, including improvements in areas like:
- Cost per conversion
- Cost per click
- Click through rate
- Quality & Relevance Scores
- Conversion Rate
Here is what we'll need to be able to launch the campaign.
1. Google AdWords access. Please provide the 10-digit customer ID used for your AdWords account, and we'll request access.
2. Google Analytics access. Please grant email@example.com Manager access to Google Analytics.
3. Signed agreement.
4. Paid invoice.
5. Kick off call.
After that, you'll receive weekly reports on our activity and your results.
How we do it
First, we develop a marketing plan based on your business’ challenges and goals.
2. Build Out
Second, we build the paid ad campaigns – everything from the ad down to the landing page.
Last, we deliver site traffic, leads, and conversions all in a detailed report.
