This week MailChimp, our preferred email marketing platform that is the foundation of our email marketing campaign services, launched MailChimp for WooCommerce, a WordPress plugin that connects your store to your MailChimp list to track sales, create targeted emails, send abandoned cart emails, and more.

The thing we’re excited about is the ability for WooCommerce store owners to create Abandoned Cart Workflows.

Before the launch of this plugin, WooCommerce store owners were stuck with connectivity options with high priced monthly fees. Now, this plugin seamlessly integrates customers and their purchase data with MailChimp, so you can create targeted email campaigns based on buying behavior.

You’ll have the power to:

  • Sync list and purchase data
  • Create abandoned cart Automation workflows
  • Send product recommendations
  • Segment based on purchase history
  • View your results and measure ROI

As longtime MailChimp experts, this plugin makes our life a lot easier.

If you have a current WooCommerce integration running between your WordPress site and your MailChimp account, then you’ll be able to run this new integration at the same time as your current WooCommerce integration for MailChimp. However, data from the older integration will display separately in subscriber profiles, and can’t be used with e-commerce features that require API 3.0.

The new plugin is really intended for users who have not yet integrated their WooCommerce stores with MailChimp. If you and your business fit that description, and want to utilize the power of email marketing automation to improve your conversions, then contact us.

We specialize in full service email marketing for small businesses who use MailChimp and WordPress. We’ve been at it for 5 years, we’re easy to work with, and work with a small team out of sunny (and depending what time of year, hot) Scottsdale, Arizona.

Note: To avoid flooding newly imported subscribers with emails related to old orders, you may want to pause active purchase-triggered Automation workflows before you sync. After the sync, replicate the Automation and activate it.
